Pirate Flintlock Pistol, Brass Finish
Product Description
"Flintlock" is the general term for any firearm based on the flintlock mechanism. The flintlock is now obsolete. Introduced about 1630, it rapidly replaced earlier technologies (such as the matchlock and wheellock) and continued to be in common use for over two centuries, replaced by cap and cartridge-based systems in the early-to-mid 19th century.
The funnel-shaped barrel of this Pirate flintlock pistol is not designed to enhance the ballistics of the weapon, but serves to facilitate loading ammunition into the muzzle.
This is a replica brass Pirate flintlock pistol. Circa 1800's, this distinctive Pirate flintlock blunderbuss pistol features heavily decorative engraved barrel, lock, and pirate's head butt cap.
